55% of any hotel booking

55% of any hotel booking

- www.goibibo.com (indian ota in english)
- use promo code GODIWALI14
- gets you 50% off on a computer or 55% off on the mobile app
- no min stay, no min spend
- works on chain hotels, too
- they cap the discount at 2000 INR/33 USD (so booking a hotel at close to 66 USD gets you the maximum discount)
- people reporting the site is accepting amex cards

- might be a useful promo for people who book cheaper hotels or who book chain hotels for which promo codes almost never apply. 33 USD discount is better than nothing

Is this site safe and reliable?

Great find! But all my US Cards get rejected with transaction failure. Plus there is a note saying only Indian CCs are accepted...

My Amex got declined.

We are sorry but the transaction failed.
Reason for failure: Bank failed to authenticate the customer due to 3D Secure Authentication decline

One has to call their CC Issuer and tell them that they will be doing a transaction with a foreign entity named .....

Only then the transaction will not be flagged and denied as 'potential fraud'.

I do this all the time when I making reservations at foreign/ outside the USA OTAs, Airlines, hotels, Travel agents etc.

I called my cc and warned them I would be making a purchase, they noted it.
Just tried to book a room and of course the payment didn't go through. I guess you really do need an Indian issued cc. Did anyone succeed with a US cc?

We are sorry but the transaction failed.
Reason for failure: International cards are not accepted

Retry transaction using a card issued within India.
