just grabbed one for late august
9000 BHT room
"127sq/m king suite ocean view"
rarely use the priority club points
From the previous comments, is it common for these "mistakes" to not be honored when checking in? The probability of being downgraded to a standard room does affect my choice of beach destinations in Thailand

Which one is nicer, 1 BR Beachfront or 2 BR villa? Personally I'd go with larger rooms but rack rate wise, 1 BR Beachfront is more expensive than 2 BR villa.

Thanks OP for the awesome find! Booked a weekend in September.
This just came up. 25,000 points redemption for all room types at IC Koh Samui, including 3 bedroom villa. Award redemption availability wide open on IHG web site.
This is a beautiful property (http://www.ihg.com/intercontinental/...ks/hoteldetail). Good luck, everyone!

Thank you very much, OP! I just booked my entire family of seven for a few nights in the 3br villa for some nights and a combo of 2br and beachfront 1br for some nights. This is for a trip we'd already planned, a last pre-UA-deval fling. Doing a three week Europe and Asia trip. This. Is. Awesome. It fits perfectly. Thanks SO much! 3br villa will be wonderful because we like to be together as a fam.

They're disappearing fast, think there's only one on the property. I got in on it early (eight minutes or so after OP posted), so I got a few nights, but only got four nights in the 3br, separated by two nights. My other nights are a 2br pano + 1br beachfront combo.

On their main website they don't even list a 3 bedroom as a room/suite option when viewing their room types. With just making a regular paid booking, the 3 bedroom doesn't show up as an option, for any date.

And I lived only a stones throw away from this property for nearly 7 years and can most definitely concur with you! ^

I still see availability for paid stays, but be aware that even the best flexible rate says it's non-refundable (and costs the full amount). Whether they stick to that or not is another question.
