I'd still pay $150 and 12 united miles to fly 1st class to HKG. I would not; however, have paid $300 for the Westin Times Square if I was offered that. I think the $$ amount is also key...a mistake fair with airlines is generally still in the $200-$500 or so range (see RGN), but is also in first class or business class. Even for first or business, people are reluctant to drop a few thousand dollars, even if it is still half the original price.

In this case, almost everybody will take the points, i'm guessing. Not having to stay and getting 2K points...pretty easy choice, unless you really do need the room. And heck, even if you do need the room, i'd take the points and still re-book at $89.

In this case it's "fair."
What is the difference?
It is only fair for me.
I cannot speak for the lawyers and moralists.

You WILL get the points (9,18,27 or 36 - whoopee!) , but you WON'T get the nights or stay credits.

I knew you got something, but I remembered it backwards.

Peace.
I have an offer from starwood if I stay one night with a Starwood property then I will get a cat 1-6 weekend night cert. In this case, will a no show qualify me for that offer since I get the points?

You MIGHT want to give it a few days.

Heaven forbid, even a week.

Thanks for the reminder as I have not heard anything either. I emailed the manager this morning gently reminding him to please respond to my email about the 2000 points being credited to my account. He immediately replied that they will be posted shortly.

Jacksonville Aloft hotel 1200 pts and $28

Shuttle to and from the airport. nice property and at that price counting for stays it is a breeze to get to platinum if you are just short.

This cash and points option is available many nights til the end of the year. I did two stays early December to get me over the platinum bubble.
