Welcome to FT. Don't listen to the naysayers. Chances are had you posted it here, everybody and their mother would have booked it (especially once it hit the blogs), and then it would definitely have been canceled. At least this way you might slip under the radar...

Don't the new DOT rules protect a passenger if they had done air+hotel?

Under what should not be posted in the Hotel Deals Forum within the sticky, everyone is asked to make sure that what is being posted in this forum is of primary interest to those looking to save on their accommodations.

How can a rate that is no longer available at the time of the original post or being remotely close to primary interest to those looking to save on their accomodation?
Where would you suggest it belong?

Great info! I just reported this case to US Airways and they thanked me for the tip and for saving them thousands of dollars. They assured me that they will cancel the vacation package that was booked with the pricing error and in return they will award me the US Airways mileage that's worth half of the value I helped to save them, which is more than $1,000. Wohooo, thank you, OP! thank you, thank you...

Geez, with a welcome that some of you dudes are giving I would be shocked if BostonLady ever came back again, much less post anything good.

BostonLady, if you are still reading: Good on you for hopefully getting a great deal. I hope it sticks. Welcome to FT.

You all are assuming that this is a legitimate post and not just a created account to try and tweak you.

How do you come to that conclusion?

More and more people are keeping quiet about these types of deals nowadays....and I can't say I blame them.

Do not confuse mistake deals with tricks/FD/loopholes. The former are one-time deals.

As such, the more people the are on board by the time the hotel/airline finds out, the better. This is because the only reason for a chain/airline to honor these mistake deals are PR costs. Sharing the deal increases the number of people that get it and increases these costs.

Sharing it here (as opposed to a random blog), increases the quality of the participants (i.e. people with status) that makes it even harder to the hotel or airline to cancel.

I understand why people keep silent if they find a loophole that can be used again and again. But holding back on a one-time deal (and i don't imply that the OP did that) thinking that the fewer people that participate the better, has been proven quite ineffective in the past..
