When you next visit, may I suggest the Handi Indian, a dedicated ride away from the shuttle stop just outside the MTR station. And they'll even take you back to town. Have the lamb shank masala. Yum.
The Citygate Outlets worth a visit, there is no other Outlet Mall of this scale in HK, year-round 30-70% reduction of 80+ brands, invest some time there and will find items you loved. I bought a RLPolo there during last visit.
I've stayed at the Novotel Citygate a couple times now. I find it really convenient to the airport, and on a budget I find it hard to do better. The train ride into town is the only drawback in my mind, but usually I'm just looking to goof off for a day or two before heading into the mainland. So, the extra few minutes then is much less valuable to me than getting to my hotel quickly after arriving or getting to sleep a few more minutes on those early flights out.
I used some Marriott points to stay at the SkyCity Marriott on my last trip, but I thought the Novotel was much more convenient, which is why I'll be back at the Novotel next week.
