Hello,
Thanks for all the reply and information. I've found that minimum of difference of cost between Regal and Novotel is 70USD so far. Yet Novotel sounds better.

If you check in at airport express terminal in HK (not sure what time they open in morning), that will save you sometime.
Good point. If you are on a USA-bound flight, you should allow extra time for checking in because there are extra security related procedures mandated by US government regulations.
Also, IIRC, city check-in at the Airport Express terminals are also not available for US flights.

If you're into Nike, Addidas, Callaway, Levi's brands. Stay at the Novotel, you'll have a blast looking through these outlets at Citygate. (Callaway opens later in the month).
On top of that you can have a dimsum special after 2pm at the Federal Palace, right next door.
thanks, silverkris168, this time, my destination is Singapore, I would use CX for my long flight, if I satisfied them. I should notice that about US flights.
1. Is the shuttle between HKIA and Novotel Citygate still available?
2. If yes, what is the first and last shuttle departing from HKIA and Novotel Citygate respectively?
3. If I choose to take the taxi from Novotel Citygate to HKIA instead of taking the shuttle, are taxis readily available at around 5.30am in the morning?

Absolutely. Located on either sides of the arrival halls. Look for the orange-color "Airport Shuttle" desk.

Not 100% certain the exact times, but i've taken the bus at 8am and at 8pm, so it covers the better part of the day.

Taxis cost around $30-40 to the hotel and are available all the time. Look out for a blue taxi (though sometimes not available) or just hop into a red one.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Looking at this hotel for January...as all of the nice places downtown are either no rooms available or over 300 USD per night. Is it fairly quick and easy to get everywhere in HK by public transportation from this hotel, or is it probably a better idea to fork out the big bucks and stay closer to everything? I'm not a night owl.

First, hotels in Hong Kong do not release cheaper rates this far out. Wait another half a year before looking, if I were you.
Second, the Novotel Citygate is close to the airport. It's adjacent to a shopping mall with subway (MTR) access, but it's a 30-minute ride to the city, each way. Or 45+ minutes on buses.
Only attractions close by is the NP360 cable car which can bring you up to Ngong Ping, where the Po Lin Monastery and its Big Buddha are.
It's not a convenient hotel except for staying overnight to catch a plane the next morning.

Thank you. I'll look again at the rates a few months down the road. The 30 minute subway ride doesn't phase me, but obviously it would be better to stay closer to the main attractions, although the cable car ride and the Monastery sound like attractions I'd like to see. Maybe I'll stay there the night before I leave.
If you stay either at Regal or Novotel for the night, can you get back next day to the HKG ferry terminal to go to Macau?
Anywhere in Hong Kong can be reach in a day. Unless you are talking about walking.
Anyway, I don't understand your question.
If you stay at Novotel for the night, can you go to the Sheung Tak Macau ferry terminal to Macau in the morning, spend a day in Macau and then return to Novotel that night?
