change for good airport deposit?

I swear I've seen something about this before but can't find it on my mobile: is there a change for good deposit box at HKG that can take a large quantity of spare change?

Simply leave your unwanted coins and notes in any currencies into the “Change for Good” envelope and pass it to cabin crew anytime on all Cathay Pacific flights. Or, you are welcome to donate the coins and notes at:

- Cathay Pacific City (8 Scenic Road, Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau, HK)
- Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF office (3/F, 60 Blue Pool Road, Happy Valley, HK)

For enquiry, please contact our Fundraising Department at 2833 6139 or at [email protected]

Thanks. Unfortunately the quantity is too big for an envelope -- we're talking several years worth of international spare change here! I guess it'll have to be lugged to happy valley.

I have seen several kiosks that accept donated change at HKIA but do not recall which gates they were near.

On the way back I had difficulties getting rid of loose foreign change if not on Cathay. I have to admit I threw some coins away.

This is not related to CX. I am moving this thread to the HKG forum.

Do you want to store the spare change away, donate the change or deposit?

Donate in my case. But can't find an appropriate avenue. No I'm not as altruistic as to store coins for my next CX trip.
