Affordable food at airport

Hi all,

I want to get an idea of best place, money & food qualitywise, to have dinner at the airport. I've searched the the threads but haven't come up with anything.

Thanks

I do an occasional Japanese curry upstairs and landside over at the budget terminal. That's where most of the airport employees seem to have lunch and dinner.

Budget terminal?

Also, do you mean Japanese curry at Ajisen Ramen?

Yes, but the airport branch doesn't carry the super value menu though.

There are also handful of places to eat in the airside - I don't know how good they are but my sis who works at HKG said the food is ok.

This place is good. A bit more expensive than McD though:

I agree with the recommendation for Tasty. Sadly, during my last layover, it hadn't opened for the day yet so I had to go with Tsui Wah.

Generally speaking, all of the places in the food court are what I'd call affordable. I don't think OP needs to worry too much.

They surely were. Big news here. Which translates to shorter lines and more open seats, at least temporarily.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I refuse to eat anything McD, it insults my taste buds

I'm sure we'll find something suitable in the food court.

The "other" check-in hall where the minority carriers are located, alas not the Cathay emporium. If you arrive with the Airport Express, just exit through the opposite doors than the majority of the passengers.

And no, not Ajisen. A very basic, open kitchen joint upstairs in the budget terminal. Lots of eateries there and a Heineken beer bar.

Why don't we just use the official name that's on all the signs?

"Terminal 2" or "T2"

Popeye's (assuming it still exists; I don't go to the airport restaurants so much any more because I'm fine with lounge food).
