The "confirmation note" is valid for 60 days from the order date. Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay and American Express are accepted payment methods for online orders.

If purchasing in person at a branch office, only cash/EPS is accepted. You will receive a paper voucher valid until 31 December 2018 which must be exchanged for a ticket at the Airport Express station ticket counter.

You can get an Octopus card at the MTR service desk right as you exit the arrivals section.

I'm having an issue with Klook.

The website says: "Redeem your tickets up to 1 month after booking, then you have 1 month within which to use the tickets."

I figured out how many Airport Express trips I have in the next month (three), and bought a voucher for three one-ways.

Once the voucher arrived by email, the terms say: "One way tickets are only valid on the day of issue."

The 1 month validity apparently applies to round trip tickets only. Yet it doesn't say that anywhere on the Klook site.

Surely that means that single tickets are valid on the day that you exchange the voucher for a ticket at the Airport Express Customer Service desk? Each voucher can be so exchanged any time in the month after it is bought. No big deal, surely?

Online vouchers are good until they expire. The ticket that you exchange the voucher for is only good on that day.

The discounted return ticket is one pair. The "return" portion must be used in the opoosite direction within 30 days

Let me be more specific: if you purchase multiple one-way tickets in a single transaction on Klook, you will only be issued a single voucher. If you exchange that voucher, you will receive multiple tickets, valid on the day of exchange only.

This is not spelled out on the Klook site ahead of purchase. In my case, I bought three one-way tickets, assuming I'd be able to use them on three separate trips within a month of exchanging the voucher. You know, like buying three Star Ferry tokens, using one and pocketing two for later use. This cannot be done with Airport Express one-way tickets bought through Klook.

To accomplish what I tried to accomplish, you have to buy three single one-way tickets in three separate Klook transactions, receive three separate vouchers, and exchange those vouchers on your respective travel dates.

Good data point; thanks for sharing.

I had an issue with Klook eariler this month. Used it for the first time to Tsing Yi but didn't buy the return, that trip went fine. About two hours prior to leaving my hotel to return to HKG I purchased the return ticket from them. It said that the purchase was pending and when I called I couldn't get through so I just bit the bullet and bought a ticket at the station. About four days later I got an email saying my purchase has been confirmed....

Needless to say I got that refunded about two weeks later when the finally answered the email. I'm not sure what the issue was since the first time I used Klook the transaction went smoothly.

I seem to recall you can buy Airport Express tickets on board with CX. Is this the case, or am I imagining things?

If so, does anyone know / remember the cost.

Great, thanks. Seems Klook remains the cheapest option.

I've been noticing this a bit more recently. Before, instantaneous, recently, keeps on saying authorisation is pending and its taking a day or two for the voucher to arrive.

You're not the only ones.

I've had the same problem buying a few things. I guess they have a problem with their system.

I phoned them up for one thing, and they said they needed to manually authorize all transactions, and the woman did it there and then on the phone.
I'm not sure how that's instant, but...

Anyway the above blog points to a site called Klook, which offers extremely cheap Airport Express tickets, to the point where a return to Hong Kong Station is HK$131 instead of HK$180 if you buy it at the Airport Express counters.

You buy through the Klook website or app and get an email which you show at the Airport Express counters to redeem your ticket. I can confirm I've tried it a few without problems. I also note others on FT have used it as well:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/25941591-post13.html

Anyway the relevant Klook website link for AE tix is here: http://www.klook.com/activity/71-air...ess-hong-kong/

I'm a bit puzzled in reviewing the Klook website information about Airport Express tickets. My assumption is that you would take the emailed voucher to a desk at the airport to have the tickets issued, but apparently that's not how it works. The website states:
From the Airport: Ticket cannot be redeemed at Airport Counter. Instead, board the Airport Express train directly. When you reach your destination station, simply show your voucher on mobile to redeem tickets at the customer service center before passing through the electronic gates. Passport / identification card will be required.
If I'm understanding this correctly, you simply exit the airport and get on the train without a ticket - and then pick up the ticket (and your return ticket) once you reach the Kowloon station. Is that accurate?
