i'm also looking for an inexpensive LAX hilton brand to add to a mattress/mileage run.

i'll be flying out of LAX at 9:30 AM on a Sunday for LAS staying at the Hilton there and returning the following night at 8:00 PM. as i'll have to pay for parking for 2 days i thought i might check into a hilton brand saturday night around 8 ish since it would still be considered 48 hours of parking, and get another hotel stay on my account.

so...was wondering if any of you had info about the different hilton's parking charges for the LAX properties.

thanks in advance

Embassy Suites Hotel Los Angeles-International Airport: North versus South

I am planning a trip to Japan that will require me to overnight at LAX on the return, I was wondering which Embassy Suites is better to stay at?

The LAX HGI is nicer-n-newer than either LAX ES, and usually far cheaper too.

Having read this thread I'll be staying at LAX HGI next time.

I've stayed at the Embassy Suites LAX North (which I understand is nearer the airport). Hotel at the shabbier end of the range.

Embassy Suites LAX - North or South??

Considering staying at one of the Embassy Suites near LAX. Saw there were 2 on the web site...North is less expensive... Is it worth the extra $$ for South? Looking for opinions of folks that have stayed at either/both....

I've stayed at both and I now stay only at the LAX North. They are only about 5 miles apart and not worth the difference in price. I liked the rooms better at the North property. I feel they are larger.

If I was you, I would stay at the North property. You will not be disappointed.

I recommend the South property. The shuttle to/from LAX is much, much more reliable. I was stood up once by the North Shuttle. Had to take a taxi after waiting 45 minutes. I thought rooms were comparable.

Arriving LAX late on 12/14, departing early 12/15: Which hotel?

My fiancee and I will be doing our first MR on the weekend of 12/14-12/15 (see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...L/003656.html) and we'll be arriving at LAX at 6:43 PM and departing early next morning, at 6:30 AM. We won't have a car, and I haven't been outside of LAX before.

Any suggestions or recommendations which hotel to stay? I've read favorable comments about Hilton Garden Inn here as well as the Doubletree (or was it the Embassy Suites?). I'm HHGold. Price wise, HHonors has $69 for the HGI. Haven't checked Embassy Suites or Doubletree but I understand they're higher?

Thanks!

Regards,
David

My wife, 3 kids and I arrive LAX at 10:48a on 12/14 and depart at 8:00a on 12/15. We're staying at the LAX Hilton for $80. It's close and has a shuttle.

The LAX North shuttle is pants, but the hotel is conveniently close to all the car rental sites, and is next-door to Budget. I normally use the Budget shuttle to get to and from the hotel (the hotel front desk even recommended this to me once when I'd just missed the half-hourly hotel ride to the airport).

I found the $80 rate on their website.

After some research, it boils down to the HGI for $69 a night and the Doubletree Club LAX/El Segundo for $71.10 which currently has a promotion for double miles.

I think I'm going to try the Doubletree.

Probably a good bet.

For me, a shorter shuttle ride was the deciding factor. Plus, we'll grab breakfast in the lounge on our way out the door.
