We tip our island land host at the end of the holiday as he has taken care of any of our needs, and rightly or wrongly, I think it helps the next time we come back.

On the last day, we tip , personally and discreetly, any staff member who has brightened up our holiday.
This was how we did it as well. Where there was a service charge we generally didn't add extra, but did tip our island host, as well as the person who delivered our room service all the way to our SWV. To be honest, we probably would've tipped more if we had been prepared with small bills, but alas...

Tipping is such a personal preference thing.

I planned ahead, was in the US in Nov, deliberately got lots of low denomination notes to take for tips.

Again I don't tip until the last eve/morning of the trip (Unless I know a particularly nice server isn't going to be around for the end of our stay)

I tipped our host a $20, as he went above and beyond on a few occasions.

Was there 26-31 March, amazing trip, will try to write more later, but not a single drop of rain while we were there, amazing weather. Host mentioned we had good luck with weather for our week

This could be perceived as slightly OT, but it is an interesting read for the mess that Maldives is, including tourism, and it will give some context to your vacation...This thread is not a proper place for discussing this, but I am just providing the link for anyone interested.

It shows fine to me with no subscription needed, strange. Try a different browser maybe?

Travel SSBD Videos of CMRI

Couldn't read that article either.. (even after giving an email)

Here's a recent video of CMRI from TravelSSBD and 987 DJ Sonia Chew from Singapore who I bumped into and chatted with whilst they were filming on the island.

So... Hilton hired a DJ from Singapore (who is popular in Singapore?) to shoot a promotional video, and encouraged points bookings?

Hm, very weird, for a while I kept getting the same blocking message too, but now it is free again, try the link again, it is a shame to miss it because the author is an expert on the topic.

Nice shout out to likely the best video I have seen of the property. Would appreciate any other awesome short films.
