Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik {HRV}
Does anyone know when it will be open? I thought it was supposed to open this summer. Any idea what HHonors category it will be?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I am planning a trip to Croatia in June and during my research I also noticed the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik. It looks like it will be quite a stunning hotel and rates for June are quite high, in the 200 Euro range..... I would love to see a Hilton property in Zagreb too....
BTW, anyone have any recommendations for places to stay in Split or Ploce?

Those rates really don't sound bad. I was in Dubrovnik last year and they have such a capacity problem that rates were very high for the shabbiest of places. And everything booked up very quickly for the summer, so I would book ASAP.
Instead of Split, I'd recommend staying in Trogir. I thought the town was much more charming and it's an easy drive to Split to spend a day there wandering through the Diocletian’s Palace. Trogir has a beautiful waterfront lined with restaurants. The town has Venetian influences as it was under Venetian rule for a lengthy period. I stayed at Villa Sikaa, a quaint B&B with nice views of the waterfront and a friendly staff. It's nothing fancy (little there is), but it's clean and comfortable and a good value.
Here's a link to a trip report I did from last June that might be helpful.

Anyone been to this hotel in its (current) non-Hilton state?

Hilton is nice... that is one of the most spectacular old buildings in Dubrovnik and I'm sure they did a wonderful job with the reno... but if you want good places to stay...

Stay at the Bellevue if you want to be outside the city a bit, but in a really wonderful setting.
Stay at the Excelsior if you want a view of the city.
In Split, stay at the Hotel Park. This is in a nice part of town half a block from the sea, set in a park. Nice patio.

Forget about Ploce... nothing there to see unless you are visiting someone.
Other places to visit:
1. Pula and Brioni islands
2. Opatija
3. Hvar (island and main town)
4. Korcula (island)
5. Krk (island)
I suggest island hopping via ferry... best way to get around... anything else is a rip off usually.
Enjoy

Award availability - Dubrovnik
Has anyone secured any award availability at the new Dubronik hotel?
On the HHonors website the search page shows the hotel as 'available' for the nights I want but then when I go to the 'view rooms' page it tells me there's nothing available.
Or is this a website problem?
