Can hilton points booking be converted to cert booking?

Can hilton points booking be converted to cert booking?
I have a Hilton Moorea booking currently reserved on points for a Friday (at their lowest level of 80k points in their lowest room category).
Next week I expect to receive a hilton weekend certificate (from citi card).
Is it possible to convert the points booking to a cert booking, and get the 80k points back? I don't want to cancel and rebook because there is no availability now at the lowest level and I'm afraid me cancelling and rebooking doesn't guarantee the room going back to the pool.
I'm Hilton Diamond if it helps?
