Looks like a HGI is finally opening in Singapore. Not too fond of the location though.

Not much info on it yet, except some job openings when searched on google.

looks like a new Hilton Garden Inn is coming to Singapore right after Hong Kong!

Cat 2 property with 10k points for redemption!^

Very affordable as compared to the Hilton Singapore and Conrad Centennial Singapore.

This hotel will soon be joining the Hilton Worldwide Portfolio of Brands but is not yet accepting reservations. It is scheduled to open in April 2017

I also saw this just last evening on my app when searching. Am keen for more info. It's time to have a cheaper Hilton option in Singapore. Location is ermmm....p

yes man, same category as that of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru {MYS}

But HGI is no DT though.
And the DT JB is a great property.
If only it remained Cat 1.
Would be super value for money.
Even as Cat 2 I suspect redemption remains high.
Pity this new HGI will not start off as a Cat 1.

Looking at the map, the closest MRT station to the HGI will be in Little India. How long would it take from there to get to Orchard and also Marina Bay Sands?

According to Google maps (Train)
HGI to MBS - 19 minutes
HGI - Orchard - 20 minutes

Awful, awful location. Not the cleanest and safest part of Singapore as well. I'm happy about the cat 2 classification though, not sure how long it'll stay there.

The location could be the very reason it is "just" a Cat 2.
I would book reward stays here in a heart beat if it is a Cat 1.
Cat 2, DB JB is much more attractive.

For a "GARDEN" hotel, this HGI should have been based at the location where Park Hotel or One Farrer Hotel is standing now.... (Farrer Park MRT)

bad location but could be useful for mattress run at the end of the year though (probably check-in, went home and come back in the morning for breakfast and check-out )
