Arrow Grand Naniloa Hotel - a DoubleTree by Hilton {US-HI}

Finally, a Hilton property on the East side of the Big Island in Hilo. This used to be the Hilo Naniloa Hotel and major renovations are underway. Now we have another option in addition to the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. ^

Not operating as a Doubletree until March, 2016?

The recent responses to TripAdvisor reviews by the General Manager of this hotel indicate that it will not operate as a Doubletree until March of 2016 now.

The website now says this will not open until October. It was supposed to be open by now. Grr. I was hoping to be able to stay during my trip this June...

Need to post something comprehensive.

There are pluses and minuses as always, plus some teething issues.

Here again for a night

Thanks, looking forward to reading your review.

I booked a standard room with bay view using points and money/fifth night free. Not sure what the difference is between 'bay view' and 'harbor view' (maybe higher floor?). Would at least like a one category upgrade to a room with a lanai.

The hotel sits near the end of a peninsula between Hilo Bay and the harbor. Bay side is the nicer view.

Thanks! Bay view was slightly high cash price but same points and cash redemption as harbor view so I assumed bay view would be better. Thanks for the info.
