Tempting for my Xmas trip to Thailand and China but, honestly, SPG cash and points is generally still a better deal in Southeast Asia.

I found rates like 2200 THB for Millennium Hilton and 2900 THB for Conrad in Bangkok.

Note that per terms and conditions these rates qualify for points and stay credit.

I wrote a piece about this offer yesterday and you can access the Hilton's web page here.
Terms and conditions as laid out on the web page only say these rates qualify for points. The t&c say nothing about stay credit. An agent in HH Customer Care whom I spoke to 45 minutes ago said that, because the rates in this offer are the same as employee rates, there is no stay credit.

Half a loaf is better than none. I have overnight stays at the same hotel coming and going on our trip to Hawaii launching next weekend and ending after New Year's. Don't need any more stays for 2013 tier status so I rebooked the first one. Thanks OP, you saved me $80! Keeping the return stay the same as it was so I can get credit for stay #1 in 2013.

So no stay credit.
If I booked an MVP rate for a recent reservation does that count as family rate as well?

No. You get full stay and point credit for MVP rate stays. I've done 6-7 of them this year and they helped me get to Diamond.

I just found this and rebooked 2 upcoming stays saving over $100. however those 2 reses earns me Diamond for next yr so I guess I have to cough up the $$$ as the stays are Needed

The good thing is I didnt CX the old reses yet so I wont and instead Ill KO the new ones

on my confirmation it says "THANK YOU RATE" how is that F&F?

Yes it does indeed say that. Then right below it says:

The bolding was mine. I guess we better print out this page and be prepared to argue if they don't grant points. Of course, the actual number of points earned will be diminished compared to the regular rates.

Hilton website bookings always count as stays?

Isn't it the case that all reservations booked direct on the Hilton website always count as stays? It's just ones booked through third parties that do not count as stays (though "in hotel" benefits still apply)?

Just my recollection of terms and conditions.

From beginning of para 3 of the accrual of points section of t&c:

3. A "stay" is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Specifically excluded from the definition of "stay" are the following types of ineligible stays: wholesale/tour operator packages; contracted crew rates; travel agency discount rates, packages exclusively for casino player card holders; Team Member Travel rates, Hilton Family Travel Rates; ...

If HH considers this "Friends and Family" sale equivalent to Team Member of Family Travel rates then there will only be points credit, no stay credit. The offer on the web page is misleadingly worded, to say the least.

Switched from the Bangkok Hilton to the Conrad, and re-banked my points. $95 plus tax.

Thanks, FriendlyConfines. That's the part of the T's and C's I was looking for.
