Honors Point Disappearance

Just noticed that the balance of my account is ~1,500 points less than last month, and activites since last checked added ~2,500 points.
Not sure if this has anything to do with the HHonors website issue.

Not much but did anyone see similar discrepancy as well?
I don't have a hard copy to prove my previous balance. So, before asking them to check further, wanted to know if this is just a short term glitch.
Thanks.

Mine was about 850 less today.

Weird.

-8000 here

The problem is that I do not know where this can comes from and I never print details of the account, so I cannot claim back.

I know what, but I don't know why (but I have a theory)...

Lost 3776 points in the last few days in the same manner as others. Turns out this is exactly the base point amount for an award stay I had that started 26 Dec and ended 4 Jan. I had a "Quad Points" posting which added that base amount three times over (for a total of 4 times base points earned for the stay). Maybe this is because (as I recall...) the 1st quarter promotion was double points for 2 nights, triple for three, and quad for 4 nights. While my stay was 6 nights, only 3 were in the 1st quarter of 2011.

Others with missing points might want to check for stays that 1) spanned the New Year, and 2) originally posted a bonus based on the entire length of the stay, and 3) lost points equal to some multiple of the base points for the stay which would make the new total correct if only the nights in 2011 were used to computer the bonus.

Poor execution.
If that was their mistake, they should have just taken it as costs of doing business rather than creating confusions for their customers.

Requesting customers to prove and submit a copy of their previous balance is another bad call.
Who among us actually print out our statements?

The points that were missing yesterday are back in the account.

I hope this is the same for other members in this forum.

In my case 2100 points disappeared and then reappeared two days later. The weird thing is that neither the debiting nor the crediting of points showed up as an entry of one kind or another in the account activity.

No accounting for the out-and-back for me either.

I wonder if this is an "activity" that resets the one year clock?

OK, so my earlier conjecture was wrong. Still curious as to whether the amount which disappeared for others matched any earlier activity as mine did (base point amount for a stay), or were random amounts?

I lost 997 points from both my base points and total points. The 997 points are now back in my total points, but not my base points.

I can't figure out where the 997 number comes from. Seems totally random.

I think I'm down around 4,000 points?! Noticed yesterday. Not reappeared yet...
