Honorable, if Humble, Hilton Family Hotels

Let's hear it for those hotels that may not be fancy, may not have amenities up the ying-yang, may be in unexciting locales, may lack glitz, but by golly, they seem to have their hearts in the right place:

Homewood Suites, Downtown Salt Lake City
Homewood Suites, Agoura Hills, CA

HGI Tampa East/Brandon would fit that category, I think.

BearX220 - would you mind expounding a bit on this one. I have to return to Atlanta and my prior digs were disappointing.

Just be sure to ask for an odd-numbered room to get away from the freeway noise.

Re: the HI Atlanta-Cumberland: it's on the NW periphery of the city near a big shopping mall, so not too handy for doing business downtown. But I have staged market research events there on several occasions and the staff could not have been nicer or sweeter -- they bent over backwards. Last time I was there, they also put out enough free hot snacks and hors d-oeuvres at happy hour to pass for dinner... along with a huge Coleman cooler of free beers. They go above and beyond the call of duty!
