Last time I stayed there, granted it's been a few years, they had a shuttle. I called the hotel when I arrived and they picked me up.

The hotel has a shuttle for a fee. A Taxi is probably the same price and will be much faster than waiting for the shuttle to pick you up.

Stayed at the property last April.
Definitely recommended as a place to go with kids. Mine had a blast (slide, variety of pools).
And the view is tremendous. Could not get tired of it, always changing, high tide, low tide, clouds, no clouds. And got a rainbow (but could not find the gold pot )

So I'm new to Diamond.

If I book the cheapest "Twin Hilton Plus Room" thru Orbitz, am I still eligible for a room upgrade and lounge access?

Or is that a bad idea? (I have a bunch of Orbucks about to expire.)

I stayed there a couple years ago and made the reservation for the shuttle via email a week prior to my arrival on island. I came in in the evening and the driver was waiting for me at the airport. Can't remember if the sign he was carrying had my name or just Hilton, but it was pretty painless.

I do remember there was a charge for the shuttle according to the emails with the hotel but it never made it to my folio (may have been due to my status, or they may have just been nice).

Loved the hotel, was treated very nicely.

As a Diamond you will definitely have lounge access. You will also receive an upgraded room if one is available.

You must be very lucky, if your Diamond benefits are honored with a 3rd party reservation like Orbitz.
Status benefits are officialy only granted if you book with Hilton only.

Oops. I lacked attention to detail when I read the OP. I know the staff at the Guam Hilton to be very accommodating. Take your Diamond card and simply ask them to add lounge access to your room key.

Two rooms versus suite

Need to book a 5 night stay in Guam with the missus and her parents. Normally, I'd book two rooms and be done with it.

However, I see that I can get a standard garden room for $140 per night, and a junior suite for $280 per night. Other suites aren't much more expensive.

Does anybody have any first hand knowledge of the suites at the Hilton Guam? I don't want to sleep in the same room as my MIL, but if I must spend $300/night, I'm wondering what will give us the best value in terms of space and privacy.

I'm a Diamond, if that matters.

Two standard rooms is your best bet for privacy. As a diamond, you'll likely get an upgrade to the premier tower with a bay view.
