Conrad Bangkok Residences {THA}
Does anyone know whether the Conrad Residence BKK (serviced apartments) gives HHonors Credit? I have been staying at the Marriott Mayfair Exec Apartments which give partial Marriott Rewards Credit, but need to start builing requaification for my HH Diamond, so have to bite the bullet and switch my stays.

I have a friend who is a host on the exective floor (Conrad BKK (says something about my travels that all my freinds are flight attendants , hotel people, etc). Anyway, I told her i was looking to change apartments she took me to see service apartments at Conrad . I was ready to switch even though the apartment was smaller than my current one. But she confirmed, NO POINTS

The Marriott Mayfair is infinitely better value and much much nicer than the Conrad Residence in my opinion (better location for me too), proper kitchens (with d/w, oven, 2 bedrooms etc etc for less than a proper 1 bed at the CR). The only point in making the switch would be for the HH points, so I guess it is back to the drawing board.

No, Nattaporn
And i agree. I was suprised no washer dryer, small, yet top dollar for the apartments. I am across the street at CenterPointe Wireless, and i think it is nicer and better value. But no points

Land of miles and lucky: what do you pay for the Mayfair and the CP Wireless? I'm at Conrad Residence (1BR) and pay Bt61,000 per month -- absol love the place, but am curious about rates elsewhere! Others are correct: no HH points for serv apts.

The decent apartments at the Mayfair are 2 bed. The 1 bed is nothing special and not sufficiently cheaper to make sense. The beds can be negotiated for under 80k p.m (or they used to). Unfortunately I come and go, so not based there permanently, and pay a bit more on a monthly basis since I am staying for shorter period of time.
I found that after the opening, CP Wireless put up rates to the extent that the 2 bed/2 bath at the Mayfair was a negligible amount more expensive.
FWIW I have always found Nattaporn to be a great host on the Exec Lounge, both professional and friendly it is a shame I cannot say the same about Julie. It looks like I will be staying at the Conrad a bit to build up my HH stays for this year, but not with any great enthusiasm.

SFO i got one of those promotions at the CP Wireless. I stayed for 3 months in 2BR, 98m*2 for 70,000 baht. Now, i have moved to 3BRM, about 150-170*2 m and i pay 105K Baht. If you are interested to move, I can hook you with my contact, i have worn him down with negotiation
But i still ove the conrad...with enthusiasm. I occasionaly go over there to spend a night.

By the way, do you need a password to use the wireless Internet access in the lounge? My computer picked up the signal, but somehow, I could not connect. The ladies didn't know what the reason was either.
Another thing, they put me in the same room as last time in the Conrad, on the 28th floor.
Don't Diamond members sometimes get upgraded to Suites?

The Thai staff are great it is the French one I have a problem with.
I had exactly the same problem with the wireless Internet at my last stay there in November. Using my new laptop I had a real problem connecting no matter where I sat, yet could connect easily at the Diplomat bar. Sometimes just doing a few reboots will do the trick. No password should be required, but the connection does occasionally get dislodged etc. and they then need to be prompted to plug everything in properly. There does seem to be an Ethernet cable by the Lounge PC's I assume this also gives a free connection, never tried it but would be useful to know before my next stay.
One other huge problem I have had at the BKK Conrad is that from the corner suites I have found it almost impossible to get a reliable mobile phone reception, regardless of network chosen (I do suspect that high floors suffer disproportionately from this, as a result of the sheer variety of cells available for selection - try enabling the cell info display on your mobile and you will see what I mean).

SFO - actually i signed up for 3 years at CP wireless to lock in the promotion rates. I started in 2 BRM, then moved to larger 3BRM when it became available. But i know they do shorter than a year. They will do a week, maybe even less.
Attorny give my regards to my friends in the lounge, i will be back in april 4th. Nattaporn knows me as:
