Anyone who is able to receive a complimentary 06:00 check-in should consider themselves very fortunate as this is definitely not any hotel or chain's normal practice. Let's face it, that is a full 9 hours before the standard 15:00 check-in time. Grousing about not receiving it, to me at least, begins to infer a sense of entitlement. A half-day rate is indeed a generous solution.

That's absolutely false. Various Marriott properties in Bangkok would graciously grant the 6 am check-in if the room was available.

I am not a big fan of the Conrad any more , it has lost its sparkle In my eyes . I have however had many an early check in previously . I think the offer of a complimentary 10am check in is very reasonable . A 6am one is very early and I would certainly not expect one.

In everyones experience- what is the best way to get to the hotel upon arrival to BKK? Looks like its quite a walk away from the express train station, the one where the shuttle is would require a transfer. Thinking of taking the BTS to the end, then getting a Grab. Hotel just sent me offer for one way limo transfer @ 3000 Baht. Don't think its worth $100USD for a one way transfer given the BTS would be $2USD and would bypass almost all the traffic.
Thanks for the help. Looking forward to our arrival in Thailand.
Also- Does anyone have any pro-tips on where to go grab street style/shopping mall food close to hotel (walking distance)? First timer to Bangkok.

Really close food market spots are still appreciated. We will get in and likely be fairly hungry for some local food.
