I would highly recommend Hilton London Metropole over Paddington a lot more now the Metropole refurbishment is complete - unless you need to stay within Paddington Station for Trains/Tube convenience.
Otherwise for the sake of a 0.4 mile walk straight down Praed Street, Metropole wins for a much better product - mostly newly refurb Rooms, decent Executive Lounge with both Afternoon Tea and Evening Drinks & Canapés, more Breakfast offerings and their Bar/Cafe area is much better than the offering at Paddington.
Plus for some strange reason the HHonors Standard Redemption Points is 10k more at Paddington (70,000) than Metropole (60,000).
