Do I get Elite benefits with group stay?

My company has a convention next week at the El Conquistador in Puerto Rico.

It is the first time it has ever been at a hotel where I have elite status.

Should I expect anything or even ask upon arrival?

I have Diamond Status. Will I even earn any points on the stay?

Thanks!

Check the 'stay' and 'individual bill' requirements for certain benefits and point earning. Look for 'group' within the T&Cs, too.

I assume you mean first Hilton hotel since you obtained status; otherwise how else did you become a Spire?

Did you make your reservation yourself using your Hilton number?

Correct.

Every convention I have been to since joining the company 9 years ago has been at a hotel somewhere in the world where I had no status. (Marriott, Park Hyatt, Hard Rock, etc.)

I just obtained HH DM with a status match this year but have always been a Top Tier with Holiday Inn/IC group.
When I do travel for work but do all my reservations and expenses myself.

No, this is the only travel that the company does for me.

I called Hilton last night and asked them if they could find my reservation and attach it to my DM status. The dude was cool on the phone and got it all taken care of.

So it shows up in my reservations....but I'm not sure if I will get any upgrades or anything.

I will post what happens once I get there.

Just checked hilton.com. after adding the reservation to my HH account last night by phone.

It appears that I have been upgraded from the Garden View to an Ocean View. ^^

smile and ask if there any comp upgrades, after you ask the receptionist how their day is going. Be nice
