Bulk convention bookings earn Honors points?

Searched and couldn't find an answer… I'm attending a convention and my room was booked at a Hilton property through Orchid Event Solutions which has a contract to arrange housing for the convention. If I present my HHonors number at check-in, will I earn points and credit for nights and stay? Thanks.

Probably not. You can always try though. Sounds like this might be a group booking or a direct billing situation, which means no points.
From the terms and conditions:
3.A "stay" is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Specifically excluded from the definition of "stay" are the following types of ineligible stays: wholesale/tour operator packages; contracted crew rates; travel agency discount rates, packages exclusively for casino player card holders; Team Member Travel rates, Hilton Family Travel Rates; stays secured utilizing Hilton Grand Vacations Club and Hilton Club timeshare programs, Hilton Grand Vacations marketing packages with a sales presentation requirement; complimentary or barter rooms; Reward Stays (as defined herein); NET Group rates; Series Group or IT Group rates; contracted Entertainment or Encore rates; third party websites bookings (irrespective of rate paid); and "opaque" channel bookings where the brand may or may not be known at the time of purchase. HHonors Points (or stay credit) may not be earned (including as a My Way benefit) for or during ineligible stays, including without limitation, folio charges incurred during ineligible stays. If at least one night of the Member's stay is consumed with the use of HHonors Rewards Points, the entire stay is considered a "Reward Stay" and no HHonors Points may be earned, except that if Member is using Room Upgrade Rewards, any money spent on the original reservation will earn points and/or miles consistent with these Terms. Participating hotel will determine whether incidental charges incurred during either of those stays are eligible for points, except that Points will not be earned for incidental charges at Hampton Inn®, Hampton Inn & Suites®, Homewood Suites by Hilton®, and Home2 Suites by Hilton®.
...
12.A Member whose individual hotel bill is billed directly to a company and the Member is responsible for authorization for settlement at check-out is eligible for HHonors Points as described herein. However, group master-billing arrangements where charges for multiple rooms are placed on one hotel bill and billed to a company or common address or settled at check-out by one individual are not eligible for HHonors Points. Incidental charges (those charged to a Member's room) paid for directly by the Member at check-out are eligible for point credit. Incidental charges billed to a master bill are not eligible for point credit.

As mentioned in item 12 of your quote, direct billings do earn points. It's master billings that do not.

If the OP paid Orchid Events for the room, then I doubt any points will be issued. However, if the room is paid at checkout on the OP's CC, then probably will earn points. The only way to know for sure is to ask the organizer if their negotiated rate negated point earning. They should be required to disclose this in their registration process, but like other boilerplate, probably won't be read.

Thanks for the replies. I finally called the housing coordinator (Orchid) and they said I'd be responsible for the charges on my own credit card when I checked in. They also added my HHonors number to the registration, so I'm optimistic I'll get points and stay credit for this…

They may know the answer and just not be telling you.

In order to get better rates, Orchid may have given up any point benefits or that they get them.
