I was there both pre and post cruise in August. I was upgraded to a corner room with a balcony. Pre cruise I got the full breakfast comped.
Post cruise not the same room but an upgraded room. Shocked to get the light breakfast which was pitiful. Separate area, almost like an afterthought.
Staff was very friendly and responsive on both trips. Some of them remembered me from the first trip ten days before.
Loved the location, close to transport and many sights.

I'm concidering between Hilton and DT; (decent) breakfast or pool will make this decision a bit difficult as these two hotels seems to provide only one of the options ...

Does anyone know why they aren't listing any rates after March 31, 2016 in the Hilton reservation system? I want to book nights for a cruise and they haven't loading any rates!

Not only that, but got upgraded to a pretty nice suite, room 516. Had a huge jacuzzi tub (but you had to climb in there to shower too), double sinks in the bathroom, a sitting room, and a rather spacious bedroom.
There wasn't a patio, but there were doors that opened from the bedroom to outside.
Internet was good too, pretty fast. But you don't log in with name/room, they have a common code for everyone.
There is a pool, but it was pretty small. I'd guess about 10-15m long, and about 5-6m wide. There was also a bar near it, and they did some things out there evenings.
The location is really nice, right in the Passage of Grace neighborhood (Passeig de Gràcia), with metro stations, shops, and most things very close.
I'm guessing it was about a 10 min walk to Catalonia Square (Plaça de Catalunya). In the basement of Corte Ingles (a department store) there's food halls, where you can get snacks, water, soda, and pretty much any food you might need (there's some bodega-type places closer).
