Mattress Standards

I thought there must be an existing thread or twenty about this, but after much searching I can't find any.

Does anyone know the standards for mattresses at Hilton properties?

A few years ago there was a big push to standardize and upgrade mattresses in the industry, which was very welcome, IMHO. More and more, properties had mattresses that were thick, firm, and comfortable. Last couple of years it seems there has been considerable back-sliding, with more hotels having too-soft and downright broken mattresses.

(At one point, I'd found a corporate document outlining the various standards and options for properties regarding bedding, but I'm not sure where it is.)

"Suite Dreams Collection" vs Serenity Bed

A big point of confusion is the difference between the Suite Dreams Collection mattress, which is thin and has zero support (you can feel the large spaces between the springs when you lie on it) and the Serenity Bed, which is thick, has plenty of support, and (usually) a pillow top.

That bed sounds like what I think of as the Serenity Bed. It's described in the link you provided as
posturized for added coil support and features a unique internal design that prevents edge breakdown. An innovative, patented quilt design and an inviting plush top mattress improves circulation and reduces night time restlessness.
which matches what many Hilton properties worldwide have: a thicker, firmer, mattress with amble support and a plush top.

However, every Hilton I've stayed at in Australia the past few years has used a thinner, cheaper mattress that provides zero support. You can feel how much space there is between the coils when you lie on it. Last hotel I checked, it was the Suite Dreams by Serta. Isn't that also a Hilton standard?

I think it's easy to see why I'm confused.

I listed that thread as one of the threads about beds as you stated you couldn't find any. There are some older ones too I believe.

Suite Dreams by Serta is an Embassy Suites standard bed (link above) although there aren't any ES properties in Australia. Sweet Dreams Bed is a Doubletree standard bed (link above) and there are a couple of DT's in Australia.

Hilton seems to be using both the Serenity Bed and the Hilton Bed names in their current marketing. Possibly the Serenity Bed name (and maybe the bed itself) is being phased out and replaced by the Hilton Bed which is what is available for sale.
It seems that some of the Australia Hiltons still advertise the Serenity Bed:
For example, from the Parmelia Hilton:
QUEEN HILTON GUESTROOM
Spacious Queen room with comfortable Hilton Serenity bed

KING HILTON GUESTROOM
Spacious King guest room with restful Hilton Serenity bed
