And, BTW, the info I got was off by 10K points.
Right now it's the high season (70K/night) for that hotel.

Lounge/Breakfast

Is there a lounge at this property and if so do Diamonds get access to it?

Also wondering if anyone has stayed there since WA took off could tel lme their policy on breakfast. I know the T&C don't call for a free breakfast at WA but the WA in NYC used to give starbuck vouchers.

I will be there in 2 weeks, as a guinea pig. Please stay tuned...

I just booked a reward stay there for 1 night using the free night certificate from the Q4 promo.

was booked into 1 King Bed room.

I've got my fingers crossed for a nice diamond bump to a suite!

I just want to confirm that you can use your Q4 Certificates to book a standard room at this property. I know because I just succeeded doing so.

Waldorf Astoria Chicago

Anyone have any experience staying here? It looks like this was recently converted to a Waldorf Astoria from "The Elysian".

I have a free night certificate to use from the Q42011 promotion and am wondering if this is my best use of the certificate.

Stayed here in January when it was still The Elysian.

Absolutely fabulous property... On all fronts.

Had a burger from room service and then breakfast in the restaurant. Everything was great and well worth the price.

Staff was very friendly and very strict on the no tipping policy... But if you insist, they will accept

The gym is just adequate, but the spa facilities are absolutely great (steam room, jacuzzi, sauna).

Will definitely be back. It will be interesting to see how being a W=A changes things.

The no-tipping policy part...I can understand no tipping for valet, but how about restaurant servers?

Bernard's Bar at the hotel makes amazing drinks.
But just beware: the secret ingredient in those tasty potato chips is..... beef fat.

Can anybody comment on the breakfasts on this hotel?

I will be around DT the Wit the next morning when I stay at W=A Chicago to run some errands and am debating if I should try W=A upscale breakfast or the Wit middle-class yet delicious breakfast.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated...
