I did a search and couldn't find anything. Anyone have experience with this hotel?

It's probably the best hotel in the city, and right in the center of it all on the main Cathedral Square. They have underground parking which is essential in Antwerpen. I usually get nice upgrades and club level privileges. My last time I had a huge room and had I brought a putter could have gotten lots of practice for 40 foot putts.

If the weather is nice, the Cathedral is surrounded by neat little cafe's and the population is out most all night.

Yes, this is a fine Hotel built quite recently behind the facade of an old building on the Groenenplatz old square. It is ideally located for the clean and safe subway system. And you can walk around the city centre from your front door. If you get homesick there is a Hard Rock Cafe next door.

Rooms are great and spacious, and the Club Room offers free drinks and snacks for HH elites from 2-10pm.

Antwerp is a great old city packed with history, also the centre of the diamond trade if you want to pick up a "bargain".

Hotel has a superb location. Many nice
restaurants nearby. I have been several
times in Antwerp, it is a very interesting
town. I have lived in Radisson SAS and Hotel Firean.
Both are very nice hotels, Hilton has the better location!

And that is what Hilton's web page says:
Groenplaats, Antwerpen, Belgium B - 2000
Tel:32/(0)3/2041212, Fax:32/(0)3/2041213
The 211 room Hilton Antwerp is the city centre’s
only deluxe prime location hotel, just a 35 minute
drive from the International Airport. Situated behind a
listed Baroque facade, the Hilton forms an integral
part of the “Grand Bazaar”, a modern shopping
centre on the Groenplaats, located in the main
business and leisure district. The hotel's ballroom,
with a capacity of 1000, incorporates a restored,
domed ceiling. Other features include 14 meeting
rooms with Hilton Meeting facilities and a health
club with special rates, in-house security and 500
parking spaces.

Hilton Antwerp

Has anyone ever stayed at the Hilton Antwerp? What kind of facility is it? What chances of a suite upgrade do I have as a diamond? Any info will be appreciated.

Hilton Antwerp Trip Reports and Reviews

FYI:

The Hilton antwerp has been running pilots since about January, I was using it regularly until about May.

If you need a NICE hotel in Antwerp or the surrounding area, I can highly recommend the Hilton, facilities are excellent and prices extremely reasonable (I stayed there for 6 straight months)

If you do go there, be sure to ask for Dedriech, He was in marketing, but has moved to the geek side and will be able to help with wireless and anything else you need..

FYI they've rigged up the wireless to work in the Groenplatz, so on a weekend you can sit outside and watch the world go by as you surf the net..

I was at the Hilton Antwerp in April and the wireless internet connections were working well for me.

Its not truly "wireless" though unless you have your own PCMCIA 402.11b wireless ethernet card on your laptop. Otherwise you have to plug in a wireless network router into your USB port....this wireless network router requires a powercord, and does not have a battery. This means that you will be tethered to a power outlet.

Otherwise the system works quite well. I remember cruising on the internet at pretty high speeds from all over the hotel.

If all you have is a USB port, you can use something like a DLink DWL-120 to get Wi-Fi access. No external power needed.
