Will You Leave Hilton? (Given recent devaluation)

I'm hoping to get a feeling of how many members will actually take steps to reduce or eliminate their future stays with Hilton, given the huge devaluation that was just announced (and discussed here: Changes to HH Reward Stays, new cat., more pts needed)

I wanted to start a real poll, but I'm not smart enough to figure out how to do that. So, if possible, and so inclined, please reply with the following info:

1) What percentage of your future 2013 stays will Hilton lose due to this devaluation?

2) Which brand will you shift your stays to? (i.e., Hyatt, SPG, Mutiple, etc.)

3) How many STAYS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year?

4) How many NIGHTS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year?

5) Total estimated spend you expect to redirect away from Hilton in 2013 due to devaluation?

I'll start, and be the example.

1: 95%
2: SPG
3: 23 Stays
4: 42 Nights
5: ~$9,000

1) What percentage of your future 2013 stays will Hilton lose due to this devaluation? None. I don't ever redeem points anyway. They're meaningless to me. I care only about a good hotel tonight.
2) Which brand will you shift your stays to? (i.e., Hyatt, SPG, Mutiple, etc.) Not applicable.
3) How many STAYS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year? 60 or so
4) How many NIGHTS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year? 100 or thereabouts
5) Total estimated spend you expect to redirect away from Hilton in 2013 due to devaluation? None. If changes reduce Gold/Diamond demand, it'll make me more likely to move my six week SPG stay in NYC to, perhaps, the usually over-elited Hilton New York.

Just downgraded my Surpass Card. Was going to anyway now that some of the bonus categories or ending, but this seems like as good a time as any. When asked why I was cancelling, I said I loved their premium product, but couldn't justify the fee in light of the massive devaluation of reward points.

No, the devaluation is not as bad as many saying that it is. Marriott's was worse.

Let's see:

1) What percentage of your future 2013 stays will Hilton lose due to this devaluation?

Zero, zip nada (and it was not a total devaluation, if you see some properties esp. in Mexico are real bargains at 5K points a night... and lots of US properties moved from 12.5K to 10K a night. So please be accurate. Add the every 5th night free, and one can spend 10 nights for 40K points. Are you calling this "devaluation"? )

2) Which brand will you shift your stays to? (i.e., Hyatt, SPG, Mutiple, etc.)

No shift.

3) How many STAYS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year?

about 45-50 a year

4) How many NIGHTS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year?

150-175We shall see

5) Total estimated spend you expect to redirect away from Hilton in 2013 due to devaluation?

Zero, zip, nada.

1. 75-80%
2. SPG and Marriott
3. 30 / 30
4. 88 / 30-40
5. $10000

The lack of upgrades(just 2 in 2 years) and lifetime membership, I'll gladly reduce my business at Hilton. I will qualify HH Diamond via stays only until I exhaust all my points. Thanks to their new program it won't take long.

If they're going to "improve" their program, at least throw us a bone or two. A couple of SWU coupons would have been great.

1) What percentage of your future 2013 stays will Hilton lose due to this devaluation?
Hilton would have gotten about 11-12 paid stays this year, down from 28-36/year from 2002-2010. Now they will probably get 3-4 when they are cheapest on price or the only premium chain in town. (I don't do Comfort, Country, etc.)

2) Which brand will you shift your stays to? (i.e., Hyatt, SPG, Mutiple, etc.) Not applicable.
I'm already giving Hyatt as many stays as I can. Marriott will probably get most of the Hilton stays, with some going to last minute Priceline 3.5* bidding.

3) How many STAYS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year? 60 or so
Had about 12 revenue stays last year. Was planning about the same.

4) How many NIGHTS did you have last year with Hilton, or were planning this year?
Was planning about 17-18 revenue nights.

5) Total estimated spend you expect to redirect away from Hilton in 2013 due to devaluation?
$1k. Mostly weeknight HGI/Homewood stays.
