I have been asked only once to show my ID for a discount when checking in. I was asked for my AAA card at an ES last year in CO, which was surprising to me since I always have to enter my card # for validation when making a reservation. Of course, this happened to be the ONE time that I had left my card home with my husband because he was making a purchase that week with a AAA discount. Since AAA is in my name, I figured it was better for him to have the actual card, if he needed to show it, and I took copy of it. Wonder what the agent thought when I showed her the copy...

I don't recall any Hilton asking me for my AAA card either (several Marriotts have), although I'm sure there are some that would. None of the properties ever noted the account number or even if the card was current but just wanted to prove membership.

There are times during my senior moments remembering my account number just doesn't happen so I just enter 430 as the international club number and still see the AAA rates. Given anyone can enter anyone's number, asking for the card at the front desk is an acceptable request. I carry too many cards as it is, but AAA is one I make sure is part of the inventory.

I am looking for any assistance getting a more reasonable rate at the Conrad IND. I have stayed there a couple times on a promo rate of $119 they were running for the company I conract to, but they won't budge from their sky high rates and I can't seem to find a way to get a decent internet or other rate.

We have good corporate rates with the other Hilton properties in the area, as well as the new JW Marriott complex, so it stinks to have the one really excellent Hilton property out of my reach. Sigh. I do so love the Conrad bathroom with the TV opposite the soaking tub and shower, nothing like CNN while you are showering. Their valets are excellent too, they walk right out and stop traffic for you to pull out in the AM. I've been spoiled, before I traveled so much, any Hampton Inn was luxurious to me. Feel free to PM me or I'll check the board.
