Anyone know if there is salmon at breakfast in the lounge? (I know there is not at the T4 Hilton.)

Also, the T5 does not have a pool, correct? (The T4 Hilton does, but it's very small. I've not ever tried to swim laps in it, since there always seem to be either a gaggle of kids in it, or it's closed for maintenance, or I'm meeting someone for dinner in London.)
Hi,

You are correct. There is no pool at the T5 Hilton ( a reasonable gym though with treatments available)

I'm not sure about salmon at breakfast in the lounge.

Regards

Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 5 to T3

Anyone familiar with the options to get from the new Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 5 to T3? I suppose there is a Hoppa bus every 30 minutes or so, or a taxi for 15 pounds or so?

So if flying out of T5 at 7.30 in the morning would you recommend from a convenience perspective T4 or T5 Hiltons. Price is the same.

Thanks!

The T4 Hilton has a free shuttle to T5. The T5 Hilton uses the pay Hoppa bus. The departure times of these two will likely differ, but I don't know the schedules. I assume the transit time will be different, but I don't know how long it takes from each to T5.

From a "convenience" point of view they are about the same, so if the room price is the same I would go for the T5 Hilton.
But:check the earliest service times for both the T4 shuttle and the Hoppa bus, because with a 7.30 departure you might arrive too late with at least one of them.

I am staying at the Hilton T5 in May and from everything I'm reading, it should be a decent stay. Next time I'll see about their T4 location as, if I'm reading it right, that one has it's own Hilton branded shuttle that drops off /picks up as opposed to being forced to take the Hoppa Bus service.

You do have a back-up facility from the T4 Hilton as you can get a London Transport bus (routes 482 & 490) free-of-charge between T4 & T5. It is quite a good service; a realistic option for inter-terminal transfers.

Hoppa draws it in by a partial vacuum. But if necessary, it does work.

Quote:
National Express' Heathrow Hotel Hoppa H57 from T-5 Bus pads 26-27 connects T5 to the Hilton and one other hotel Travelodge), so there's no circuitous routing 8 minutes pad to hotel; headway is every 22 minutes, £4.50 one way purchased on the bus, as "little" as £7.00 return purchased in advance. N.B. Hoppa do not accept £20 bills! Hoppa PDF schedules from here.

The T5 hilton have a standard taxi rate for cars they book for you from the hotel to T5. The charge is £10 so if 3 or more are travelling I would get a taxi.

I usually use a taxi from the T4 Hilton to T3, because I usually have an 11:00 AM flight, and am not a morning person. I'll be trying the T5 Hilton later this month, and will surely use the taxi to get to T3 for my departure.

The Hoppa departs Hilton T-5 every half hour beginning 0415, and takes 16 minutes to go to Terminal 3; last bus departs 2315. Still £4.50 one way, £8.00 to LHR (H10 goes to T5 and terminates at T1-3 "Central" - H57 departs the hotel beginning 0416 and goes to Terminals 6 and 4, every 22 minutes until 2258). Up to two children under 15 travel free when accompanied by a paying adult.

I took the bus today from T-5 and it was very quick. The hotel FD employee had some difficulties finding my reservation - they had it under my first name, as evidenced by the TV "Welcome J...." display screen on my in room LCD TV.

Nonetheless, the check-in was speedy and well done, with acknowledgement I had stayed previously and a swipe of my card for incidentals (low prepaid £86 rate), and I was given an upgrade to the 4th (Executive) floor - card required to access the lift. Not a huge room, but certainly large for the UK and significantly so and more comfortable and convenient than LHR T-4, with a bathroom with very large towels, a very high-rimmed tub and corner walk-in shower with curved glass doors (the one side without it's gasket allowed some water to go out to the floor) and a large Peter Thomas Roth nubby "massage" soap (also unlike T-4, which allots one hand soap for bath and washbasin).

On entering the very spiffy room, I fond a raspberry chocolate bar and a 750 ml bottle of Cabernet from Veneto ("Sun Tree NV) as well as a liter bottle of water with a hang tag stating it would be replaced every day. Also received my newspaper.

I was thinking of hitting the lounge for a snack at 1800 when they bring out hot canapes and alcoholic bbeverages, but the "Mr. Todiwala's Kitchen" Goan restaurant is really very nice with some dishes that are delicious and not so easy to find elsewhere. The HVAC works - so it is actually relatively cool in here if you wish, unlike the Paddington where I was never able to get it sufficiently cool to sleep with the *!$$% duvet they have (no sheets, of course). Here it's also a duvet in cover (no sheet, Sherlock, ) but it's cool enough to be OK.

Ah, I missed Todiwala's - but enjoyed the also very nice "Gallery" restaurant, with a very attentive Maitre d'Hotel also waiting on my table, Andries (from South Africa). I did hit the lounge for breakfast (0600 - 1000) and it was OK, with possibilities of making your "bacon buttie" if you are so inclined.

There was a large traditional Sikh wedding celebration going on - wow, such colour and costume! Beautiful.

BTW, the information in the guest book is incorrect - the Business Centre is open 24/7, and one can print off boarding passes there. The Lounge attendant was also helpful and offered to print BPs if I mailed them to her at the lounge. It was easier to print my BPs to a PDF and print them in the Business Centre from my thumb drive (no cost).

Is it worth the Hoppa time and £8.00 to stay here? IMO, definitely! Much better accommodations, better service, and the restaurants are pretty nice. Very nice service levels as well.

N.B. I did use the Hoppa, and though they depart the LHR terminal bus bays promptly, the H10 I took to LHR Terminal 3 departed perhaps 3 minutes early from the hotel. It beats the slats off of using taxicabs - especially LHR Terminals to the hotel, as the black taxis / cabs seem to be charging a minimum of £35 for a fare, thanks to their relationship with BAA / Ferrovial, though one can get a minicab back from the hotel for half that. Give the concierge time to call one up.

No. Hilton T5 does not have a shuttle, see the earlier posts for the discussion.
