I know people are going to ask but I have no other info about this promo. I don't know if the double points refers to just base points or all points and I don't know if it's combinable with the airline offers.

FWIW, normally these 2x, 3x promos relate to base points only. I can't see any different happening.

i.e. for "2x", Spend USD100, get 1000 base + 1000 ("2x") promo bonus + status/myway/vip bonus.

Yes is how it works..
So basically if you know that:
1- You will stay less than 10 days in hiltons in Q2 then you get the double points.
2- If you are staying more than 10 days but you will be charging high (staying at top end hotels or getting suite..etc) you get the double points.

10 nights seems like quite a bit for a free night cert. espcially at the height of begining summer travel, early vacations, graduations, and such.

I sincerely doubt it! The programmers goofed in letting them get through in last year's Q4, but closed the loophole for good afterwards IMHO.

So they are offering a bonus during a busy travel period and folks are still going to complain.

Given that this would make back to back promotions for the first time in a long time (probably at least 4-5 years), I'm thrilled that I might get double points for a couple of months and especially during a time period that they probably don't have to offer a lot of incentives for folks to be staying at the hotel.

Hopefully the airmiles promos will work even if you dont take airmiles (Points+Points) as it did in Q4. ^
