Using AAA coupon code, do I really need to present it?

Just booked a rental that was basically 100.00 less than the standard Amex discount I usually get because I changed the discount code to AAA and entered a PC# I found on this website.

In looking at my confirmation it says WARNING: Present coupon to return representative.

So do I really have to have this coupon? Can I print it from the website?

If it says you need it then bring it. It will show up in the system for the rep to collect the coupons. They may let you go without it but you would be taking a risk.

RE: Using AAA coupon code, do I really need to present it?

I've gotten two discounts by using the AAA CDP and a PC a few times without printing the coupon. At least once I made a reservation with a coupon for an upgrade, forgot that I used the coupon code in the reservation and didn't get the upgrade. On my last rental I printed the coupon for a one-class upgrade (if available) from the AAA website and presented it to the Hertz Counter Rep along with a copy of the confirmation and itinerary showing that I put the coupon code in the reservation.

I got the upgrade for the first time after 8 rentals for 108 days in this calendar year. By the end of the month I will have 10 rentals for over 120 days and plan to call the Customer Service in Oklahoma for the 5* status. Also, I'm wondering if I should ask for PC status or do I have to wait until next April to get that?
