I think they may have done that to scare you. I just rented a Full Size on Friday and they only verified my drivers license. If anyone has used this code, please post if you have had issues or not. If it is working, why do you go and call Hertz to bring attention to this?, and you went 3 people up the chain. I have a rental on Tuesday so I'll check with the rental agent when I get my car to see if it says anything in the computer.
CDP 1704073.
"For the Noob posters... don't call Hertz up to ask them about this CDP. Ask on here. There are so many knowledgeable people. It's like you just want to start trouble by calling up the company. Just like the mileage run noobs who call in and the cheap fare gets taken away."
Thank you
This code worked perfectly for 10 day rental in KOA.
Thank you localjapguy. You saved us hundreds of dollars.
We used the Gold Canopy Service and never spoke to a soul. Excellent
I need a little help with a couple of reservations please
Looking to book 6th-11th November in Kauai (LIH airport or pref Kauai Marriott), 12/11-19/11 Maui (OGG) and Waikiki 20/11 & 21/11 and having the following problems booking under the Marriott Rewards CDP and the 1,5, and 7 day PCs (123841,129754,129765).
1. The PCs are supposed to give an additional 20% discount, but the rate comes up higher. Are there any ways to contact an agent to discuss this (in the UK)?
2. The Waikiki Marriott is open until 16:00, but website allows me to choose a return time after this (19:00)? Presume I'm best to book at Hyatt which is only .2 miles away and open until 21:00, rather than argue that the booking supported a time beyond the opening hours?

So far the Best rate I Found is with CDP 706900, but no matching PC.
I think there Must Be a Code that Works, can someone help?
There are actually very few PCs that work on one-way rentals. If you can split your rental into, say, a 3-day rental in San Diego with one-way to LA, then drop at LAX and pick up another car for a week in LA (or vice-versa depending upon your schedule, but make the shorter duration rental the one-way) then you can probably use a weekly/weekend PC like the recently posted $40 off Amex promo which is good through January 31.
706900 also is a bit more picky about PCs than some other CDPs, and there are many that are only good through December 31, but in your case I think it's the one-way. Every once in a great while there's a one-way PC, but it's usually token, like $10-20 off, something like that, and there aren't any active right now that I saw. It's an inconvenience to make an extra trip to the airport, but it might work out in your favor if you can do it. Obviously price it that way first to see how much you'll really save. The max savings is probably around that $40 level (the coupon won't work on the one-way), although you may also save a bit more when your one-way rental is shorter than 10 days. So you'll have to decide if swapping cars is worth it for whatever you find. Or perhaps swapping cars just isn't feasible in your itinerary, in which case I think that's probably the end of it.
When I did a one-way SFO-PDX, I used 706900 which gave me the best rate by far and didn't bother with anything else. The rate was fairly reasonable for a week of one way. The 3 extra days making for a total of 10 really adds up, so if your rental can split into a weekend and then a full week there could be savings. Good luck.
Trying to find some good CDPs or PCs for Thailand, will be traveling there in late Dec. (Dec. 18-Jan 1). Anybody know any codes that work?
None of my usual codes yield any tremendous savings.
Thanks,
Bostonbali

Oh, grow up!
As you've noticed, your options are limited until you reach the age of "supermajority". There have been PC's around that are CDP independent, but they have been scarce lately.
In Vegas there are often good specials at other companies. Use Kayak and Orbitz and BookingBuddy and you should be able to find something cheaper. Good luck.
What is the best code/discount for Thanksgiving weekend from Hertz locals? Anyone have any good CDP and PC combos for that Friday thru Monday?
Thanks,
Ryan
Receive one extra rental day free when you rent a Compact 4-Door through Full-Size 4 -Door weekly or Weekend Rental at participating location in Canada and U.S. Use

The cheapest rate I can find at Hertz is 4 days for $115. Other companies are displaying similar rates but are not waiving the age requirement and therefore want to charge $20-$30 extra per day.
PC 135321 good for $30 off weekly rental through 31 Dec 2009. Works with most CDPs.
I just reserved a compact for the Wed. before Thanksgiving, return for Tues, Dec. 1st, at my local HLE, for $142 all in. (Used the Travel Partners Club CDP 706900.) Thanks for the PC!
Am a Hertz Gold 5* and AAA member and can't find anything under $600 for a 5 day rental at PBI beginning New Years Eve. Does anyone have any coupon codes that are valid through the holiday period? I've thought of trying the USAA code since that brings the rate down by 60% if I move the res to an HLE but am not a member. Normally, since I am a 5* they don't check my codes at airport locations but I've been to this HLE location and it's more chaotic and they seem more driven to scrutinize everything to increase the rental fees. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

NYE was a problem for me recently too. Looking for minivan at BOS; just about everyone is sold out (or if not, well over $100/day, that isn't cutting it).
Anyway, I've used the USAA code a couple times without particular valid reason to use it, but that was at airports. In my HLE rentals this year it's always been Travel Partners 706900 that wins. But if you feel like they're scrutinizing everything, I don't know. I've yet to see that happen, ever, but that's just my experience. Usually AAA is not that much more, though.
A lot of the PCs that have been used recently expire on 12/31, but the PC 137675 $10 off/day up to $40 is good through 1/31. Requirement is pay by Amex. Also, it's airport locations only, not HLE, but that seemed to be your preference. That won't really cut it much though.
Doesn't the AAA CDP cut your rate almost that much at the HLE? I've yet to run into a case where the AAA rate was significantly more than the USAA rate. Biggest difference was a few $ per day that I've seen.
This could be a time for points as well. It looks like the Florida blackout ends on Dec 26 and doesn't go through to the new year, so non-peak may be fine. Even if you don't have enough points, someone just noted on another thread that it could come out cheaper to use points in some cases than the rate they're giving you. You have to have some points though; if you've been earning only airline miles and not Hertz #1 points, this probably won't work for you.
