Help a newbie - 4WD for ski trip
Hello -
I've been renting with Hertz since last year, and got to President's circle. That being said, I've never actually used any of my points.
I have an upcoming trip to Lake Tahoe - will be flying into Reno and driving from there. Expecting 4-5 people.
I went over the different car classes and it looks like I have enough points for the more expensive (5 person) options, but may be able to get away with a 4 person car if possible.
My questions are:
- How do I guarantee 4WD? I didn't see this as an option to select in the car classes.
- With PC, is it possible to book one class lower and get an upgrade to save on points spent? Or not worth the risk?

The PC upgrade is only to a maximum Full Size car, so that won't work at all.
As for 4WD, good luck, maybe try calling. I think only the larger/more expensive SUVs are "guaranteed" 4WD, though I'd think at a ski-adjacent airport many of the smaller ones would be.
