My two favorites are Mama's Fishouse and the Plantation House. I have never had such great food in my life.

cblaisd...appreciate the links. I haven't been to Maui in over a year and am also looking for any new restaurants that have popped up. Particularly, restaurants that may serve one of my favorite dishes, Cabrito

Hailemaile General store near Makawao is the most wonderful restaurant. It's only problem is that it's quite far from most of the resorts.
It's reviewed in all the guidebooks, and serves a wicked crab pizza!

After staying for a week and having to eat out every meal daily, we made heavy use of the Entertainment book. In all, around 1/2 - 3/4 of our meals used the book. Nearly all were great meals, with the Sushi restaurant at the Maui Prince perhaps the only disappointment given the cost (food still good, though).
Our favorite place turned out to be Leilani's on Kaanapali, with a splurge at Roys Nicolina. We especially liked the Ono fish everywhere that offered it, which is something we had not seen in NYC.

AndrewC, good call on the Haili'imaile General Store. It has long been my favorite place on Maui and I will always make a point to go when I can. Yes, it's off the beaten path, but soooo worth it!
And, lqdnitin I think what Bruddah slippahs was saying is that , as I am sure you know, sushi isn't cheap, no matter where you go. When it's served at a place as nice as the Maui Prince, well... cha-ching!
