New Mac Nut flavor... SPAM!
Saw this in a local newspaper recently, and am intrigued. Has anyone tried them yet?

Just when you thought every conceivable food pairing had already been done with Hormel SPAM® , Hawaii’s number one selling canned good, Hamakua Plantations brings us SPAM-flavored Macadamia Nuts. Seriously? Now that sounds absolutely… ehem… NUTS!

Someone gave me a can for Christmas; I'll be sharing it with some friends next weekend as well.

I just got back from two weeks on the BI and we stopped by the Hamakua Mac Nut Factory twice. I was brave enough to try them - not bad. Not a strong SPAM flavor, very salty, but definitely "ok" tasting. I think the plain unsalted mac nuts from Hamakua Mac Nut Factory are the best - but their mac nut brittle is pretty great also. FYI, if you are doing a tour around the BI, the Hamakua Mac Nut Factory is a much better stop than the Mauna Loa Nut Factory (although the Mauna Loa Mac Nut Hershey Kisses are pretty adicting!). My kids always enjoy the crack your own mac nut around the corner by the glass windows/factory area.

I would definitely try them. I secretly love the taste of spam, but can't bring myself to eat it more than once a year, do to the ridiculous nutritional profile.
A great gag gift, in every sense of the word.

Didn't see them at Longs when I was there is past weekend... where are they being sold at? (I may have missed them even at Longs, was in a bit of a hurry)

I'm surprised Longs didn't have them. I think it was mentioned upthread (or in one of the links) that Don Quixote (fka Daiei/Holiday Mart) had them.
