Costco in Honolulu

I will be in HNL next month. Has anyone been to the HNL Costco recently? Our local Costco sells restaurant certificates at a discount. Does anyone know if the Honolulu Costco sells any gift certificates to local restaurants?

Not a direct answer to your question but wanted to make sure you knew that there is more than one Costco location in Honolulu.

I know for sure that Costco sells CPK gift cards at 20% off ($80 for 2 $50 gift cards). There's also sometimes a Sam Choy's or dk-affiliated restaurant gift card (e.g., dk steak house). I'd call the Iwilei Costco and check.

By the way, if you're looking to get good meal deals while on Oahu, you'd probably have a better bet with the Entertainment Book. A much larger variety of restaurants to choose from at a deeper discount (usually a 2 for 1 coupon).

Four Costco's in HNL :awesome:

Been to two... and have seen discounted gift certificates for restaurants in the area... I know locally in ANC there is a larger selection during the christmas holidays so it may be the same there...

And just one in the Honolulu-metro area (Iwilei), which as of 2007 was the top Costco in the nation (and I doubt that's changed): http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/ar...707290338.html

On the weekends, the Iwilei Costco is a mad house.

Great story!

And true about prices being higher in AK and HI... (but have seen many items the same in other warehouses still :p)

And this bit:

"That rice and Spam thing that's popular in Hawai'i, you don't find that anywhere else in another Costco," he said.
- I've seen quite a bit of SPAM in Alaska :p Maybe we're Ohana after all :D

Thanks everyone for your help. I did call the Iwilei store and was told they have CPK and Ruby Tuesday certificates. I do have the entertainment book. Many of our favorite restaurants have closed over the last few years :(

The newest Costco (Kapolei?) has self checkouts ^ and a whole bunch of items ending with .97 and .00 indicating clearance/sale.
We ended up dragging Circulon pan (and a few other less noticeable things) back to LAX - TSA folks were thoroughly entertained. :D

Was at the Iwilei Costco this afternoon. Saw the Ruby Tuesdays but no CPK ones. Wonder if they were placed away from all the other gift cards.

I don't know about food certificates, but the Kona coffee they sold at Costco was half the street price (ABC stores) and sure is tasty. They had a lot of good gift items there when we were there last month.
