HA Award Availibilty on Delta

Has anyone had any experience redeeming HA miles for a Delta award? Between their mileshare program and their credit card offers, it might seem to be less miles to redeem an award ticket to the middle east on DL using HA miles. They only require 80k r/t, the same as the never available "low" award on DL. I am afraid the availability is the same as the DL low award.

Does anybody know?

I've got 2 coach tickets on HA R/T HNL-SYD for next month at 80K Delta miles each. It is still available at that award level for most dates in Nov and Dec. The FC ticket has never been available, but I've heard that you can upgrade at Check-In time. We'll see if that's true.

Any Fees

Do they charge you the same fuel surcharge that Delta does?

I was recently able to get two Business Class award seats (on the same flight) between HNL and SYD using DL miles.

From what I could see there were two business seats available each day (3X a week service) made available at the 331-day mark at about 1:30 a.m. ET.

If there are seats available they are in the Low category. So it is Low or nothing and no medium or high.

Being that there are only 18 seats up front I would expect that once these seats are gone that's it.

Also, South Pacific is no longer on the published DL award chart but it is still 150,000 miles per ticket in Business/First as long as all the segments are in the Low category

I paid about $180.00 per ticket for a CMH-ATL-HNL (stop over) SYD-HNL-ATL-CMH routing.

HA flights can be redeemed online from DL thus saving $25.00 per ticket.

What about using HA miles on DL

I think some misunderstood. I was asking about getting HA miles from their credit card program and/or redeeming SPG points to be used on Delta flights nowhere near Hawaii.

Does anyone have any experience using HA miles for DL flights? What is the availability and fees?

I'm also looking to book a domestic award (within the lower 48) on NW or DL using HA miles, and too am curious about others experiences doing this - availability, taxes/fees, etc. When you redeem DL miles for a DL ticket you get a stopover on ANY award including domestic. Anyone know if this would still hold true when redeeming HA miles for a DL ticket?
