Does HA Allow for Free Stopovers in HNL When Travelling U.S. West Coast to/from PPT?

I am planning a trip from the US West Coast to Taihiti (PPT) and considering flying via HNL using Hawaiian.

Does the airline allow free stopovers on either end?

Does this have to be booked as a multi-city itinerary?

I just did a dummy booking on the website as multi-city LAX-HNL-PPT-HNL-LAX and it priced with no stop-over fees or surcharges. This might be the best (only) way to book what you're looking for. Keep in mind, PPT only operates on Saturdays in both directions.

How many miles should this trip cost?

I tried pricing it up and the system gave me some crazy figures.

If I book as two separate awards this should cost around 45k per each leg (90k total)

A single award with a stopover should be less.
