Does HA block/limit the number of business class seats available for Miles Upgrades?

Just curious if Hawaiian airlines blocks or limits the number of business class seats available for Hawaiian Miles upgrades.

Here is the plan:

Purchase 4 coach tickets using $ and then use Hawaiian Miles to upgrade.

This is for a west coast to Maui flight.

Thanks

Yup, like all airlines, Hawaiian's upgrade space is capacity controlled. If Hawaiian thinks it can sell the upgrades, then it will hold back availability. If you cannot get all four upgraded after booking, you should keep checking back, particularly as you get closer to the flight.

If it's like other airlines, they would release 2 First Class seats at -330 days for either awards or upgrades.

Once they are gone they are probably gone: although in theory more might be released at -7 days they are more likely to offer them for paid upgrades.
