HA award availability policies?

What is HA's policy for releasing inventory?

Generally HA availability SJC-OGG/SJC-HNL/SFO-HNL (on AA.com) is good but it suddenly seems to drop off around June. Is that because they have not loaded their new schedules, or because the inventory genuinely dries up in summer?

There is great availability on Alaska (AS) but I found out that one cannot readily change an award ticket date from a non Oneworld airline to another (without redeposit fees of $150, ouch).

June/July/August is high season in Hawaii/busiest travel months - they are likely trying to see if they can sell the seats before releasing any.

Any hope of inventory freeing up?

Just because one airline releases seats doesn't necessarily mean another airline is going to release seats.
