Apologies if this has been asked and answered here before. If so, I didn't find it in my search..
The BoH (really FIA, which is really BoA) HawaiianMiles Visa T&C does not state anywhere that the 20,000 new card sign-on bonus is one-time only (only for first time card holders).
So I wonder - and my question is - has anyone successfully cancelled the card and then a few months later re-applied for it (on the same HA account, or does it have to be a new one?) and gotten the 20K "new card" bonus miles again?
I honestly just got the card for the 20K bonus miles, otherwise it's pretty useless given the low value of HA miles (e.g. 7500 one-way inter-island redemption vs 5000 on NW or DL for HA flights, miles worth less than a penny each vs. a bit over a penny of most other airlines). But I am thinking now, if I cancel it and reapply for it later sometime next year (not to have my HA account lapse w/o activity), will I get the 20K new card bonus miles again, or does FIA keep track of it and it's only for first time card users only (and if they keep track of it, is it by SSN or just by the HA #?).
Any insight on this much appreciated!
