Any existing threads that could be moved into this forum?

Now that this forum is here, there may be existing threads that could be moved from their current locations to have a better home here.

If anyone knows or sees any threads elsewhere on FT that might be candidates for moving, please post them here.

Also, there are probably a lot of existing threads that might be worth providing links to here, but maybe they are too specific to a particular airline/hotel program. Those will probably stay where they are, but could be referenced in a FAQ thread here. This will allow us to centralize general travel planning topics and thus make them easier to find.

I have offered to help out and create a FAQ thread for this forum and I have gone out and found some possible initial threads for either inclusion in the FAQ or might be better suited to be moved here.

If anyone has any thoughts on adding to the list I have below please post. I'm sure I have missed threads that are candidates for moving here and threads that could just be referenced in a FAQ. I am planning on using the below list as a starting point. Also, my first thought is that some of the airline forums have some threads on specific program "Small Business" programs. Those might be of interest for event planning as well (given there might be opportunities for extra miles accumulations.)

Those look great. Are they going to be individual threads first? That will build up the forum initially, & then get moved into a FAQ or will they be stand-alone. I'm not sure most folk will read the any existing threads thread, so don't think they should stay here, although I think you're just asking generically.

My thoughts are that the Mods for the forums these threads are in can chime in on whether they think any of those threads should/could be moved into this forum. The ones that can be moved will be. Any threads from the list that aren't moved, I can have points to them in the FAQ. (Maybe I should actually PM them with the threads from their forums asking them that question? )

Note this doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be links to the threads moved into this forum, that all depends on the thread in question. Some may be worth putting in the FAQ, other may be more for historical perspective and thus don't really need to be referenced.

But I'm more than willing to hear from anyone's thoughts. This isn't 'my way', I'm more than willing to organize and put together the info in whatever people think is the best way.

Actually, I'm wondering if the proposed "Wiki" thread format currently being bantered around in the TB forum would be an excellent way to start organizing some of this info. I think it would work great here, but unfortunately, it isn't yet usable functionality.
