Sao Paulo??
Where is the gay club scene in Sao Paulo? Is it concentrated in one area or all over the place?
In particular I enjoy hot strip clubs for men, and even saunas. I know the scene in Rio where I will be going but I am considering a stop over in Sao Paulo as I have never been there.
All advice and info is greatly appreciated as well as hotels nearby, esp SPG or Hilton or IC/PC. Thanks everyone.

There are several fairly recent threads about Sao Paulo. I don't see any point starting a new thread when there are several that basically answer your questions.

I have been to Sao Paulo on three occasions during this century. I was last there in 2006. Consult this website; there if a lot of info. www.daddysreviews.com; go to Escorts South... do a search; type in sao paulo clubs, etc. and see what comes up.
You also might wish to go to www;gaytravelbrazil.com and see what's there that is related to sao paulo. I have much information for Rio but just a little for Sao Paulo, as I did not go to any clubs while I was there, namely the saunas, Lagoa especially--- hot---hot--hot. At this place were strippers and drag queen performers and hot go go guys!
I'm going to Sao Paulo next week. Does anyone have any recent information about which clubs to go to for which nights. Anything about Saunas or sex clubs or whatever. Feel free to PM me.
Recently I read somewhere about a huge club in S P, The Week. It is gay on Saturdays. It looked great - a lot of muscle boys...
You will probably find further info if you try to google it.
Do report back if you go there. Thx
I was in town last week. The Week is indeed still one of the best gay venues. It combines a club (two main rooms, each with different music) with somewhat of a lounge area (an outdoor portion with a small pool where people can actually hear each other talk). Sort of the best of both worlds.
One big change in the past few years has been the spreading of gay venues beyond the traditional area around Av Paulista. It's definitely still the main gayborhood (in terms of population and some of the more gay-friendly hotels like the Renaissance where most flight crews stay), but you can no longer count on walking to almost any gay venue.
Next week 10 of us are going to Sao Paulo, glad im bring gay friends, and just staying a week before going to RIO, Sao Paulo city does not look to be a fun gay city.

I have been to Rio and Buenos Aires. I liked Buenos Aires very much. Rio is beautiful and has a spectacular beach, but the nightlife in Sao Paulo is off the hook. There is something going on everynight of the week. Some of the clubs are absolutely huge. "This Week" on Satuday Night and "Blue Space"on Sunday night are jammed and world class. The Station is a cruisy bar with multiple floors and back rooms. SoGo is in the Jardins district and is a very nice club open from Wednesday through Sunday night. We could not possibly get to all the clubs.
I got the impression that after many years, much of the gay life is now transferring back to the "Centro" area. There are a number of clubs and discos down there many with many hundreds of people.
I did not go to any of the saunas but there must be over ten of them, one of them with over 400 rooms. Apparently there is a sauna for every taste and age. The bars are vary late. I would not go out until about 11:30 at the earliest, although Sunday tea at Blue Space was packed at about 8:30 or so.
It waas great fun. I would go again much quicker than I would ever return to Rio. Rio has a beach scene but other then rent boys and rip offs at LeBoy, and a management which is also ripping you off, the place is a major bore.
Negatives about Sao Paulo. The scene is spread out so you have to take a taxi most places, although the taxis were pretty cheap, and rather easy to come by. It is very dangerous. We never had a single problem of felt threatened in anyway, but bullet proofing your car is a major business, and private security is the number one business in the city.
Some of the hotels frequented by gays are pretty pricey, like the Renaissance. We stayed at the Golden Tulip Belles Artes a block and a half off of Avenida Paulista, right in the gay area and it was terrific (the halls were a little dull) for about $91 a night. Huge rooms with built-ins. Large marble bath. Excellent service.
Another negative is the traffic. Although most of what you will be seeing is withing a small area, and at night there is not much traffic, going from bar to bar. But transportation to and from the airport is a terror. No one tried to rip us off and the prices were fixed, but the traffic is astonishing. I would recommend that you leave your hotel 4 hours before your flight. No kidding.
We left at night and it was miles and miles of parking lot traffic.
They have a gay map that they give out which is very useful. There is also a webpage which is not in English which gives all the bars, shoppping, saunas, and sex clubs. Even though it is not in English, you can still make it out, and put it through the google translator.
I would be happy to PM anyone with any information I have. I have only been there once, so I am not an authority, but it was way fun.
By the way, Sao Paulo has the biggest gay pride parade in the world. This year the attendance was estimated at 4 1/2 million people. I don't think that I could stand the crowds. I think that I will take a pass on that.

True........
But you should come for the gay pride! I have never set foot in the parade itself, but the parties that are hosted within the week or so of the parade are just something else!
They hire famous singers, lots of very good looking people and foreigners come to the city, and there is just a huge media covarage of the even from TVs and the likes that makes the atmosphere just so much lighter and better.
Just out of curiosity: the gay parade is the number 2 event in Sao Paulo) in terms of income for the city, second only to the F1 race. Hotels are fully booked months in advance....
