HRC Inaugural Ball

Anyone plan on attending the Inaugural ball that HRC is hosting in DC the night of Obama's swearing in?

I presume that Rick Warren is free.

When will we stop accepting second class?

They would never allow a prayer from someone who believed that blacks were inferior, nor should they.

Why should we accept this for even a minute.

The Democrats told us not to be Republicans because they treat gays as second class. I guess second class is just a matter of degree. Now I can say "master" a little more assertively.

This is obviously both timely and pertinent, but let's try and keep this from getting too far into OMNI/PR territory.

For those wearing kevlar and asbestos, the OMNI/PR discussion on the political aspects of the Rick Warren invitation is here.

Having been duly warned by the fabulous FlyBallet, I will venture to it, only because Facebook is down, and I rarely read anything in OMNI/PR.

Veering back on track, I won't be in DC, but am extremely interested in what Obama has to say in his inaugural address. I hope everyone tunes in. He is not the answer to every problem, but he is already such a huge improvement over his predecessor, I will continue to be cautiously hopeful.

You could not pay me to listen to Rick Warren on a slow day. Just another (in his mind) well intentioned megapreacher who is repackaging all the old hatemongering in a more palatable package for suburbia.

Hey, it looks like we have an extra ticket to the ball. If anyone's interested in purchasing, ping me. Thanks!

We're seriously considering this. There aren't any hotel rooms left in DC though. Who else is going?

I'll be there. Would be nice to meet fellow FT'ers.

Anyone going to the Town event as well? I'm still debating that one, but I have my inauguration ball ticket already.

I am looking for one ticket for myself. I am flying from boston and staying with some friends who have no interest in going. Oh dear, what's a ravishing, blonde, blue eyed boy to do all alone at a dc hrc ball

Agreed! It's a much better deal. Go to the Dance for Equality: A Party You Can Believe In - at Town.
