I'm pretty sure I'll be chekin' out Odarko! Copper, looks like it might be more my cup of tea! I have a lot of experience with similar clubs in Berlin. I've been going 5 times a year!

I'm glad my suggestion will be of help. I was hoping to be in Madrid on March 9 - 15, but it won't work out now.

Heading back to Madrid 01/01/12 ...may stay at the Palace again. Stayed there 2010 while they have cash+points (3000+$60) now is 4500+$90. Just wonder what the weather like at that time of the year ? Anyone going ? Early Mileage Run.

I'm visiting MAD/BCN for the first time this May and I made some hotel reservations. I'm looking for a decent room, that I can stumble back to on my own. (I have REALLY bad luck with taxis!) So I have these reservations in the gay areas based on some on-line maps. If anyone could offer up a positive or negative opinion on these that would be appreciated! Or offer any others. I'm looking to stay around the 100 Euro or below range. I was considering hostels (The hotels, not the dorm room deals) but the quality seemed iffy, so would appreciate any suggestions for those as well.
MAD - Room Mate Oscar
or Petite Palace Chueca
BCN - The GranVia Hotel
Thanks!

Senator Gran Via
I stayed at Senator Gran Via for 5 nights in 2006. Nice hotel, friendly staff. Metro station literally outside the door. Walking distance to Chueca.
In Barcelona I stayed at the Citadines, a French apartment-hotel chain. It was very convenient to Las Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, the metro and clubs.

Since I am only needing a place to stay for one night in Barcelona, i book this small hotel. It comes with your own shower in room and not dorm like. For one guest is 78Euro

BCN's scene isn't as concentrated as Madrid's Chueca neighborhood (you'll need a cab eventually) but the gay-run Axel in the l'Eixample area is pretty convenient to several bars, dining, a really good sauna, and the metro.

Don't forget the churros and hot chocolate at Chocolateria San Gines. Perfect for the winter!
