Nieuwezijds. Amsterdam The Netherlands.

With the demise of Thermos, this is the only sauna.

Totally unexpected when I was in Paris I was trying to find a gym that does day passes (CMG or whatever the chain is doesn't) and came across Gym Louvre. I was hesitant at first but a friend told me it's not that bad. It actually has a decent gym upstairs and then a big cruising area, steam room/sauna downstairs with lots of rooms and cabins and video screens. Thinking that 11am on a weekday when I finished the gym would be silly to take a stroll downstairs...well, it wasn't silly at all.

Has anyone here had experience with the bathhouses/saunas in Barcelona? Are they worth a "look-see"?

Traveling all the way to BCN for the bathhouse? NO.

My recollection (During circuit festival weekend) was that it was relatively crowded but very slow, lots of "just look and see" guys and not so much action.

But if you are in town for a few days, why not just pop in on a Sunday afternoon and see for yourself? I went to Casanova, IIRC.

With limited time in BCN, I would not even bother.

Was recently at Sauna Barcelona on a Monday early evening. Was reasonably busy, and a fun time. Varied crowd, which is good (IMHO).

Aww. Hadn't been to Thermos in 30 years, but have very fond memories.
