Hi all!
I'm a 50ish photographer living in the Big Apple. I travel some for work, but the bulk of my travel is to SFO, near where I grew up. And one or two trips a year to Barcelona where I have tons of friends. I've been lurking on FT for a while but I just felt I had to register and give my two cents on the 'flying with electronics' (cameras, in my situation) thread.

Hi all. Just found this thread, so thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Mark, living in wonderful Reading, UK. Have lived here all my life. Just entered into a Civil Partnership with my other half on 28th July of this year - we have been together for nearly 3 years in total.

I currently work for a cruise line (NCL) but am leaving for pastures new in a couple of weeks. My partner is from California, so we do a few trips back there each year. I prefer to take long haul holidays whilst we are still young, so last year was Thailand, the year before a cruise out of Miami. This year, travel has been a bit restricted due to the cost of the "wedding" but honeymoon is coming up in March next year when we are off to Sydney & Ko Samui (SQ Biz )

I have been loyal to UA and Star Alliance for a while now, and fairly early on in our relationship persuaded my SO to come over from the dAArk side. I am distraught about losing my *A Gold this year - will miss it very much and will hopefully have the money next year to fund sufficient travel to re-qualify. Although fairly loyal to *A, I can't stand BMI and am often forced to resort to BA, who I prefer for short haul & domestic anyway.

Next trip is to Kos, Greece for a cheap week away, then back on UA to ONT to spend Thanksgiving with the family.

I spent a summer living in Croatia (Porec) and a part of my heart will always be there. The other part has been left in San Diego.. I would move there in a second. We both love to travel, Thailand was awesome last year, and we both loved Belize. Closer to home, Barcelona was amazing, as was Egypt. I also spent a year travelling around the world, and loved Australia, New Zealand and Hawai'i.

Anyway, hi to all again.

Mark

Wink

24 yrs old here, single, have spent the last couple of years living and working abroad in Spain (mostly Madrid, but some time in Marbella and Vigo as well) and am now moving back to the USA.
The nature of my business has mostly been within Spain and Europe for the last few years, so I hold Platinum status on Iberia, Gold status on SpanAir, and also Gold Medallion on DL because I have flown a few trans atlantics and US flights on DL as well.
I also am a sucker for American Express Membership Rewards and hold 5 cards including the Platinum Card, would love Centurion sometime soon, hehe.
Travelling is what I am most passionate about and am of the mindset that the world is to be personally seen and not just read about.
Favorite travel destinations include Europe and the Caribbean. My all time favourite city would have to be Madrid.
Love to meet and chat with new people..!

Hello all. I thought maybe I should introduce myself, having just noticed this everlasting thread. I'm a lawyer (another one: sorry), specialising in information technolgy law. I have a mangerial position with my fiorm which means I fly a fair amount mainly to the US on BA. My partner of 14 years (we married last year) does something useful for society: he's a head teacher. He just maintains silver. We live in north central London at WC1X 9ES.

I have a guilty secret. It is this. I don't think LHR is quite as purgatorial as many make out

All the best

Harry

Can't remember if I've signed in here or not - even after 800+ posts!

I'm Aleks and I'm a paralegal/legal secretary by career and a flirtatious whore when I post on FT. I live just outside Wilmslow, UK with David, my partner of nearly 7 years. We're entering into a civil partnership in March 2008.

We fly as often as we can, which isn't much this year on account of moving house a few months ago, switching jobs and our upcoming Christmas holiday in Orlando.

We're both always on the hunt to meet new friends, go new places, do new things and just generally have a laugh. If you look to the left and see my list of programs, you'll see a popular gay dating/cruising site where you can see our details - our user name is ...dna - we're definitely not on the hunt for sex.

If anyone's in the Orlando area on Saturday 29 December - my 35th birthday - we're probably spending the day at Universal Studios, catching the Blue Man Group show, dining at Hard Rock and then "going British" by drinking the night away at the Orlando George & Dragon.

I thought I'd stick a lesbian toe into this thread and say hello.

Retired (yes another one of the dreaded legal types) midwesterner who loves new places, mainly on Northworst.

Just finding my way around Flyer Talk

I'm a 50ish Travel industry traveler living in Seattle and working in Redmond, helping run the travel program for a large (largest) software company. My SO (12 yrs) and I love to travel, I plan he packs! :-) Using my job to keep an eye out for the deals, we do lots of short trips that are long on miles to keep up our 1K status on United.
Recent trips include the Cow Do in Buenos Aires over Labor day weekend where we met a couple of new "family" members.
Doing a milege run this weekend to FLL going Sat, retn on Sunday for 4 hours on the beach if it's not raining. LOL
Looking to make travel friends who are crazy like us, it's nice to know that there are other mile starved people out there. Anyone coming near Seatac is welcomed to contact us.

I have been a member of FT for a while but have mostly been a lurker...

I'm 37 and have been living in San Francisco Bay Area since 1993; also have lived in Chicago, St. Louis, Toronto, Taipei... Maybe that's why I love to travel!

I was a loyal NWA since my mom worked for them in the 60s when it was Northwest Orient! NWA stopped flying to Taipei, so I switched to UA... UA fares have been on the rise this year, so I am trying out CO. Speaking of CO, I am currently at the CO DOIII in Houston. It's an amazing event! I had a chance to converse with CO CEO Larry Kellner, who is a great guy with no attitude.

I always look for new travel friends, so I'm looking forward to meeting some of you soon at one of the upcoming Gayla!

-David

Coming outta the lav....

I would come outta the closet here but it seems that you dont find those on airlines much anymore.

My Name is scott and I am currently working on my PhD in Hospitality at Texas Tech and also working as I graduate assistant. I fly CO exclusively except for the occassional time where the cities I am flying to and from dont have CO service. In fact I just got back from the CO Do III and seeing many couples there has inspired me to post here.

I have lived in Houston, San Antonio, Las Vegas (the Las Vegas, not NM), Stillwater, OK (don't ask), and now Lubbock, Texas.

I love to travel and hope that as I come here more often I will get the chance to meet many of yall in person.

Thought I would update this post. Now living in BNA and working for UAX and expanding myflyingto DL as that is were my benefits are. Still enjoying seeing the world and meeting fellow FTers!
