Gay Hotel in Berlin
We had a big opening of a new gay hotel here in Berlin last week: the AXEL
Hotel, Lietzenburgerstr. 13-15. Apparently 86 rooms from Euro 80 (check the
website). It is bang in the middle of gay action (Fuggerstrasse, close to
Motzstrasse) and a few yards from KadeWe, the big department store.
The location could not be more ideal ! There are gay Axel hotels in Barcelona
and Buenos Aires as well. The only thing that sounds disturbing: no breakfast
included, just room rates, and the breakfast is charged at Euro 48 (so the
papers reported on the opening). Pls check, but the location is fantastic.
I didn't like the architecture, a huge black blob with golden windows.
It was also reported in our newspapers that there is NO bible on the bedside
table but a set of condoms. Just check and enjoy.

There is a list of gay hotels (some with independent reviews by previous guests) on http://www.patroc.com/berlin/hotels.html.
Patroc also has overview maps of those hotels and of the gay areas, in case you wanna stay close to any of them.
